Best Way to Winterize Pools

The nights are getting longer and colder, and leaves are beginning to fall from the trees. With summer officially over, many swimming pool owners are getting a head start on winterizing their pools.

Closing a swimming pool can be a chore, but it is essential to do during the off-season to prevent damage during the cold winter days. Winterizing your swimming pool also simplifies your tasks when you open your pool come spring time.

The process of winterizing is a long and tedious one. So make sure you have you have your winter pool supplies ready and get started on winterizing. Here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Balance water chemistry. Checking for water balance should be done approximately three to seven days before closing. Ideally, the pH level in the pool water should be anywhere between 7.2 and 7.6. For alkalinity, it should be 80 to 120 ppm and 180 to 220 ppm for calcium hardness.

  1. Remove all pool accessories. Wall fittings, diving boards, ladders, solar cover or blankets, cleaners and skimmer baskets should be cleaned and placed in a safe place during the winter season.

  1. Lower the water level in your pool. Water expands when it freezes and it makes your swimming pool susceptible to cracking. To prevent damaging your entire pool, lower the water level to 12- 18 inches below the skimmer.

  1. Drain pool plumbing and filtering system. Similarly, the plumbing and filtering system of your pool can get damaged if water is not completely removed from them. Blow out trapped water in your pool system by using a shop vac, which you need to plug at the pool end. Clean the systems thoroughly after draining.

  1. Remove dirt and debris from the water. Leaving your swimming pool with all the leaves and debris in it means having to work extra hard cleaning your pool when you open it in the spring. A leaf rake helps in taking out bigger particles from the water. Your pool filtering system should take care of the smaller ones, which are difficult to remove manually.

  1. Use pool winterizing kits. A winterizing kit treats the water and makes it sparkling clean when you open your pool in spring. You’d usually find an algaecide, rust and scale remover and a pool shock chemical which you should use before closing your swimming pool.

  1. Cover your pool. Pool covers are designed to keep dirt from entering the pool. Make sure that there are no holes or gaps in your pool cover so that your swimming pool will remain clean the whole season through.

Winterizing prolongs the life of your swimming pool by protecting it from the harsh elements during the cold season. Spring is just a couple of months away and you’ll soon be opening your swimming pool before you know it. In the meantime, why don’t you sit in a home sauna to chase the winter blues away?

The Hidden Culprit Behind Low Back Pain

Low back can often manifest a debilitating situation in someone’s life. Structurally, your lower back (lumbar spine) supports most of the weight of your body and is subjected to the most mechanical stress. This is specifically why it’s often this local area that radiates problems and pain from overuse, misuse, and misalignment in an individual’s day-to-day life.

Typically with our allopathic tendencies in thinking, when low back pain erupts in our life, we inherently go after addressing the “symptoms” of the back pain, and not addressing the underlying root cause.

The skeletal structure of the human spinal column is one of the most intricately designed edifices in all of nature. This architectural design does not convey pain and discomfort without intelligent design. The integrity of this design is specifically dependent upon the cooperation of the structures that allow flexibility and movement throughout the bony vertebrae of the spine. These structures are the known as the intervertebral discs, which are fibrocartilaginous cushions that serve as the spine’s shock absorbing system which protect the vertebrae, the brain, and the nerves.

These discs allow vertebral motion, and the magnitude of that motion is dependent upon the systemic collaboration of the intervertebral disc throughout the spinal architecture.

It is in this understanding of what contributes to the integrity and suppleness of these intervertebral discs that determines the long-term health and vitality of the spine, and whether or not you will be susceptible to repeated attacks of lower back pain, sciatic pain, and debilitation associated with the malfunctioning of your spinal column (which is under systematic influence). There is not a function in your body that is not determinant upon the interaction of the nervous system, whose pathway is interlaced throughout the intelligent spinal architecture.

The fundamental question to ask yourself here is “What actually makes these critical intervertebral disks of mine up? What makes them supple and healthy, and allows for the most freedom in movement and motion?”

The answer at the root of this question is the solution to avoiding all symptoms of acute and chronic back pain. Understanding the terminology, functioning, and relationship of your spine and spinal problems is critical to incite the inherent solutions that are available. It is in being empowered and informed that gives you access to solutions. And this being so, here is a valuable summation of the structure, unsuspecting cause, and consequential solution to problems associated with the spine.

The intervertebral discs are comprised of a nucleus pulposus, which is the gel-like core of the disk, and the annulus fibrosis, which is a strong tire-like connective tissue ring that holds the nucleus in place. Both the nucleus pulposus and the annulus fibrosus are mainly comprised of collagen, proteoglycans, and the most crucial substance of all, water.

In particular, the nucleus pulposus must optimally contain a well hydrated gel that resists compression. This hydration is determinant upon the availability of pure, clean water that is drawn into the nucleus by its biochemical constituents through osmosis and diffusion. The key here is that the body system must be supplied with the sufficient amount of water to keep the intervertebral discs hydrated. The amount of water in the nucleus pulposus varies throughout the day for everyone, depending upon levels of activity.

Most people naively look to a prescription of an isolated macromolecule, or a manipulation of the vertebrae and discs, when the problem at the root of it all is a deficiency in what actually makes up the majority of the structural integrity of the spinal column in the first place, which is vitalizing water.

Now this may be difficult to grasp for many people who have neurologically associated water as just a mundane and inert substance. But this is the precise mistake that leads so many people to undergo acute to chronic day-to-day problems due to lacking the very substance that is the driver, carrier, and sustainer of life within everyone of the trillions of cells in their body.

When you become dehydrated, you very quickly begin to lose cellular and systemic function throughout your body. The only trouble is that most people are completely out of connection with their body’s request for water… and they often think that they are “too smart” to miss the physiological signals when they are expressed, of course until a significant problem shows up.

Did you know that actual “dry mouth” or feeling thirsty is one of the worst ways to indicate that you are dehydrated? These are some of your body’s last warning signs that there is a deficiency of this life-giving substance in your system.

When your cells and organs are dehydrated, and you will be experiencing the “lighter” side-effects of dehydration first, which are low energy, lack of focus, and increased levels of stress. These typical symptoms are coped with day-to-day until a more serious condition is experienced, which was actually based on your bodies continuous demand for optimal hydration.

As soon as your body starts to become dehydrated, it immediately begins to draw water and nutrients from areas in your body that are deemed “less critical” at the time to aid in processes that are necessary to keep you alive first and foremost. Specifically, in this case, it is important to take a look at the functionality of your blood.

Your blood is often referred to as The River of Life, it’s most notably your bodies highly sophisticated transportation system, and the very foundation of every blood cell in your body is water. Now, because your intervertebral discs are considered to be nonvascular, this is one of the last places that receives the benefits of proper hydration, and one of the first places to become deficient. This intrinsically reveals the unsuspecting hidden culprit behind low back pain, as well as numerous other chronic conditions, and also reveals a critical solution for the intelligent practitioner and the adept benefactor.

A fundamental place to begin to intelligently hydrate your system is to take your body weight and divide it in half, and the number that you come up with is the number of ounces of fresh, clean water that you need to consume everyday. That means that if you are 160 lbs, you need to unsure that you are drinking at least 80 ounces of pure water each day.

Most back pain is actually an ending process of simple muscle strains. But again, this is the ending process in a chain of events that initiates with cellular dehydration, as well deficiencies throughout the spinal and synovial fluid, that results in the imbalances where muscles are required to compensate and maintain outermost structural integrity.

It is not just important, but essential to super-hydrate your system to avoid and remedy the problems associated with back pain. Understand that this is not a deficiency that has happened overnight, so it is a practice that takes time and attention to provide your body with the right conditions to heal.

There are numerous complimentary practices that can accelerate healing and remobilization associated with chronic and acute back pain. Optional integrative practices ranging from chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, inversion therapy, nutrition counseling to balance out deficiencies and remove toxins, rebounding, strategic muscular stretching, flexibility training, and many others. The key factor is ensuring that you are choosing a knowledgeable practitioner and/ or advisor to work with you. It is your health that is the focus, so always go with the best resources available.

The Universe – Blind Chance Or Intelligent Design?

How did everything, including life, come into existence? Was there a Creator or was it merely by chance that everything in the universe, including all life forms came into existence? The only other option is that everything that exists, materialized out of nothing. Immanuel Kant versus the Princes of Serendip: Does Science Evolve through Blind Chance or by Intelligent Design? attempts to answer this question. Kant’s response is: “Accidental observations, made in obedience to no previously thought-out plan, can never be made to yield a necessary law, which reason alone is concerned to discover… Reason must not approach nature in the character of a pupil who listens to everything the teacher has to say, but as an appointed judge who compels the witness to answer questions that he himself has formulated”.

Scientists must not remain under the dominance of experience. We should neither heed the accidental observation nor listen to Nature as if we were naive pupils. We should strive to seek the objective truth in facts. For example, the glaring lack of evidence is what has kept evolution as a theory for well over a hundred years. Evolution remains hypothetical…unproven.

Evolutionists and anthropologists claim that the Stone Age lasted for at least 100,000 years, during which time the world population of Neanderthal and Cro-magnon men was roughly constant, between one and 10 million. All that time they were burying their dead with artifacts. By this scenario, they would have buried at least four billion bodies. If the evolutionary time-scale is correct, buried human bones should be able to last for much longer than 100,000 years. Like the dinosaurs presumably have, there should have been uncountable fossils.

By their time-scale, it is supposed that there should have been four billion Stone Age skeletons, and certainly countless buried artifacts. There should be multiple millions of them in fact, given the enormous time-frame they claim, yet only a few thousand bones and fragments have ever been found and these are far too few to fit the Stone Age theory and the thousands of years it was supposed to have taken place. Why worry about a “missing link” when the entire chain is missing!? Nearly half a million fossils have been discovered and categorized, but not even not even one single set of transitional fossils (like reptiles becoming birds) of one single species of animal or mammal, has ever been found in all of human history. They can not find what has never existed.

An accidental world, with chance as a mechanism for life forms, must fall upward against science’s axiom that out of nothing comes nothing. Cause and effect demands some Causer prior to nothingness. Chance, to Kant, is an excuse for ignorance. Chance is not even a noun, it can do nothing of itself, it has no power to effect, it is not an x-factor, as many are convinced. And chance is not composed of physical matter. Regardless of those facts, to those who believe in evolution or carry a disbelief of Creationism or Intelligent Design, chance was the x-factor in everything coming into existence. Otherwise, they must admit that they don’t know how matter, and thus life, came into existence. They simply don’t know and can only placate theories (subjective). We should expect science to deal only with facts (objective), approaching things rationally and logically. They have not. Evolutions remains in the textbooks. Believing in something does not make it true. Try and find a real tooth fairy.

Another consideration is that it is impossible for matter to create itself, spontaneously, out of nothing. Evolutional theory is of no help: it doesn’t explain how matter was formed and thus by extension, it can not explain the origin of life. In fact over time, cells do not gain additional DNA (which, in evolution, must be present for transitional stages), they lose DNA integrity. Each cell is like a carbon copy of the original. With each passing day, the cells are making copies of each other and becoming a little less like the original. The cells are not evolving, they are aging. Natural Selection produces extinction of the species, not a proliferation of it. Cells do not improve or become superior over time, but just the opposite. The Law of Entropy says that cells break down or smooth out over time and lose their cellular integrity. It is the polar opposite of evolution.

The general approach for those who don’t believe in a Creator, the argument or theory is an equation: Space + Time + Chance = Everything. How can, in what in reality is, 0 + 0 + 0 = everything!? The space did not cause matter to come into existence, nor did time. Neither can chance influence or create events. Can being come from non-being… spontaneous generation of matter from nothing? Can chance actually do anything or cause something to happen? No. Chance is only the likelihood of something occurring. There must first come “cause” before an effect can occur. And a cause logically demand a Causer…and a Creator. Chance is powerless. It can not make something happen or create something from nothing. It is a non-being.

I met an old intermediate school classmate far from our hometowns in a big city. I thought, that’s incredible. What are the chances of that? Lot’s of zeros I am sure, but I did not go to this city to meet him. He did not come to the same city to meet me. It was pure coincidence or by mere chance. But the chance did not make me go to this city. I did. But I had already existed before having this chance meeting. I caused myself to do so. Same for him. Chance is a possibility quotient, a mathematical equation. But you have to have numbers to begin with or you can’t even write an equation. Chance is powerless to create or to cause something to happen. That leaves only one possibility. The cause must be from an Intelligent Designer, a Creator. There is no other way in which to explain the reason for all matter…the universe and all life forms.
